Greenpeace activists float a sign in the sea to highlight the bio-diversity and climate threat posed by oil and gas exploitation in the area of Abrolhos Marine Reserve, off the coast of Bahia state, Northeast Brazil. Oil drilling will have a devastating effect to the local marine biodiversity and will contribute to further global warming. Greenpeace demands that the Brazilian President sign a decree creating a protective buffer zone to protect the 95,000 square kilometer’s Abrolhos marine reserve and help keep ocean’s ability to regulate the climate.
